James Tromans over at our sister AndroidAuthority.com site has put together a review of the Acer Stream, an Android 2.1 smartphone with a 3.7-inch AMOLED(INFO) touchscreen display and a camera that can record 720p video.
James likes the design of the phone, particularly the build quality, but thinks that the phone isn't quite sexy enough to compete with the other heavyweights in the high-end smartphone sector. Acer's custom user interface is useful and usable, according to the review, but again doesn't give Android users what they expect: widgets. Battery life, however, does appear to be a strength of the device, and it is hard to argue with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and an HDMI output port, too.
But in the end, it seems that Acer still needs to do some homework before it can compete at the high end of the market.
