Samsung Transform Android smartphone for Sprint review

The T-Mobile myTouch 4G is T-Mobile's second HSPA+ smartphone, following the T-Mobile G2. There are arguments to be made that T-Mobile's HSPA+ network isn't 4G, but there's no disputing that it's fast. So is the myTouch 4G; it's powered by one of Qualcomm's latest 1GHz Snapdragon processors. From its premium industrial design down to its voice quality and battery life, the myTouch 4G was a pleasure to use during my tests.

That's not to say there weren't some areas that could see improvement. The video chat is practically unusable and its user interface may not be for everyone. Even still, the myTouch 4G is, without a doubt, one of T-Mobile's best smartphones. Let's explore why.

The Samsung B2100 Solid Extreme (also known as Xplorer) is the smaller brother of the B2700 Bound. Samsung Monte S5620 orange

The Samsung Monte has a 3 inch capacitive touchscreen to bring messaging, photos, videos and the Internet to life. Samsung Tocco Lite pink

The Samsung Tocco Lite is lighter than the original Tocco and it has a larger screen, now 3 inches with a higher resolution, plus gesture lock and handwriting recognition. The interactive TouchWiz interface lets you customise your home screen by dragging and dropping the widgets you use most. The screen also has an accelerometer, turn the phone sideways and the display automatically switches to widescreen landscape mode, great for viewing movies. With a microSD card slot and an excellent video and audio player, it will keep you entertained on long journeys.

The Tocco Lite has stereo Bluetooth, allowing music and sound to be streamed wirelessly with a compatible headset. The web browser is also very good. Although with no 3G or W-Fi, it relies on GRPS, so large web pages and downloads are slower than a 3G phone. It’s still fine for moderate internet use and there’s no significant speed difference when using email, Twitter or Facebook.

The 3.2 megapixel camera has smile detection, which means it will focus and then wait until your subject smiles before taking a picture. The Samsung Tocco Lite is a fun phone and excellent value for money. It has a nice interface and good multimedia capabilities.

Samsung Galaxy Portal

South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has launched a new handset running under Google's Android operating system in the UK, namely the Galaxy Portal, which is now available for purchase in the country via wireless carrier T-Mobile. The handheld has already been launched on the market, and is available outside the UK as the Samsung Galaxy Spica i5700. The phone comes with Android 1.5 on board, but will soon receive updates to newer flavors of the OS.

Those of you who may not have encountered the device up until now might want to know that it comes with a body 13.2mm thick, that in boasts a 3.2-inch touchscreen display and that it also includes a great deal of connectivity options. Among these capabilities, we can count the presence of quad-band GSM, HSDPA options, as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.

Samsung Moment 2

The news of Samsung Moment 2 release is knocking at the door with many rumors along with one leaked picture which doesn’t show much difference from its predecessor Samsung Moment. Samsung Moment 2, which technically called SPH-M910, will be launched by Sprint. So before Sprint brings HTC Evo 4G for sale, Samsung Moment 2 will be out before that. But rumor says Samsung will not be upgrading its outlook from its original Samsung Moment, leaving the option that we will be able to see a lot of technical specification upgrades than the M900, Samsung Moment.

Unlike its brethren Samsung Moment, the Samsung Moment 2 will come bundled with Android version 2.1 along with its enhanced User Interface the TouchWiz 3.0 version which will give ease of use & excellent menu navigation. The old Samsung Moment has quite backdated software; it runs with Android version 1.5 which was scheduled to be upgraded to Android version 2.0. So for now Samsung Moment 2 will be launching with world’s most advanced operating system combined with a great user interface named TouchWiz version 3.0.

Samsung Moment 2 will be lacking some features of a next generation mobile phone, as rumored. It may not have the Super AMOLED display which we have seen in some of its predecessors. So there will be chance of lacking visibility of the mobile screen in broad day light or bright sunshine. This is one of its advantages which will affect any user while deciding to buy the Samsung Moment 2. HTC Evo 4G will win the race by some leaps in comparison with Samsung Moment 2, due to this reason alone, as its quite annoying to get the screen unreadable in direct sunlight. It also appears as if the Moment 2 is not going to be sporting a 1GHz processor and WiMax.

The outlook of the leaked picture of Samsung Moment 2 doesn’t look much different than Moment original, except a few changes like bigger QWERTY keypad, which will make it easier while texting or typing. Samsung also made some changes in its QWERTY keypad changed the position of the keys for better functionality and easier use. Samsung Moment 2 will have a search button on the front, below its screen, extra than the first Samsung Moment and its look it more edge cut type, giving better handling experience. The Samsung Moment 2 does look more robust and well built than its predecessor, the Samsung Moment M900.

While everybody is waiting for Samsung Moment 2 as it will launch before HTC Evo 4G from Sprint, there in so official announcement about its release date or technical specifications and price. Although it is being compared with HTC Evo 4G for coming from same Sprint and having same operating system, Android version 2.1, the lack of AMOLED display and WiMax may take serious role in users mind while deciding to chose from this two. However, Samsung Moment may have a few surprises inside it making the deciding factor for buying it in the long run.
