A shakeup has been reported at Apple as the man partially responsible for the iPhone 4 antenna blunder has quit his job.
Mark Papermaster, Apple’s senior vice president of iPhone and iPod hardware engineering will be leaving the company but it is not known if he is leaving of his own accord or if he was fired.
Apple have lost a lot of potential business thanks to the antenna problems with the iPhone 4, dubbed the “death grip” because when users held the phone a certain way they lost signal.
The company have since come out with new bumper cases for the phone to fix the problem, and have provided consumers who already purchased the phone with a free case.
Consumers were quick to identify the problem with the new iPhone, and Consumer Reports refused to recommend it because of the glitch.
As for Papermaster he is yet to comment on his departure from the company so it is not known if he was fired or if he resigned.
